Formula Student Germany- 2018
From the 6th to the 12th of August the Formula Student Germany took place at the Hockenheimring. Already on Friday, before the actual beginning, first members of our team travelled to Hockenheim to secure a good camping site. Followed on Sunday our first sprinter arrived with the food and together the big team tent was erected. The rest of the team arrived on Monday and had our combustion engine with them.
The first day of the event was used to set up the pit and prepare everything for the scrutineering. On Wednesday the scrutineering started and already on this day we could successfully go through the first checks. The next day, the static events Cost and Design were on the agenda, with both American and German team members standing before the judges. On Thursday we were also able to successfully complete the technical inspection.
With SkidPad and Acceleration we had the first dynamic events on Friday, followed by AutoX on Saturday. Here we can proudly report that we took the first place home. In the evening the first part of the Award Ceremony followed. On the last day we went to the race track for the last dynamic event: the Endurance. We finished the week in Hockenheim with a successful 4th place Overall Combustion! So we can proudly say that our combustion engine is back at the front. We are looking forward to starting again next year in Hockenheim.
