Welcome to the home of Global Formula Racing! GFR is an international collaboration between the BA Racing Team from the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg-Ravensburg (DHBW-R), Germany, and the Beaver Racing Team from Oregon State University (OSU). This unique global venture promises to build upon the team’s past success and propel development into the 2012 season.

Team

Global Formula Racing is the first global student collaboration of its kind in the history of both the US-based Formula SAE and EU-based Formula Student programs. The former BA Racing Team from the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg-Ravensburg (DHBW-R), Germany, and the Beaver Racing Team from Oregon State University (OSU) combined forces in 2010 to compete as a single entity. The two universities share physical and intellectual resources through the use of advanced communications technology to create a highly competitive vehicle worthy of international recognition.

Design, manufacturing, and testing occur simultaneously at both schools. The collaboratively developed GFR 2012 design will be used to manufacture a combustion car and a fully electric car - one for the OSU campus in Corvallis, Oregon, USA, and the other for the DHBW-R campus in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The combustion car will compete in USA events, as well as Formula Student events across Europe. GFR's electric car will stay in Europe to participate in Formula Student competitions only.

'Relentless' to be Premiered Online

Oregon State University students of Global Formula Racing will be hosting the online premiere of a documentary featuring their successful 2011 season. On April 21, 2012 viewers will be able to watch a live stream of ‘Relentless’ starting at 900 PST/1800 CET. Following the documentary, team members will be hosting a live video stream to give the viewers an opportunity to pick the brains of the members of the team. The students of GFR are excited to show off this documentary to the public and are eager to answer questions from viewers. [more]

'Relentless' Documentary at OMSI

On April 18th at 6:30 pm, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) will be premiering the Global Formula Racing team’s documentary, “Relentless”. OMSI is located at 1945 Southeast Water Avenue Portland, OR 97214. The event is open to the public and offers free admissions. People of all ages are encouraged to attend. [more]
