OSU 2009
The 2009 season marked the beginning of a major design shift for the Beaver Racing team.
The new focus: a lightweight and fuel efficient design. All decisions were centered around this goal with a heavy focus on weight reduction. Two big design transitions included the incorporation of a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and a single cylinder Honda CRV 450x engine.

Events and Achievements
In June of 2009, the OSU Formula
team competed against over 80 universities in Formula SAE California.
The team placed 2nd in design, 1st in combined dynamic events, and 2nd
place overall.
Also, in 2009 the team competed for the first
time internationally. At the Formula Student Germany event the Beaver
Racing vehicle was in the four fastest cars of dynamic events and placed
in the top ten teams for design.
To conclude the season, OSU
competed at the inaugural Formula Student Austria event where we placed
first in presentation, autocross, endurance, and fuel economy, and won
the overall competition!
