In 2012, we are going to compete with an all-electric vehicle. The eCar is primarily based on the 2011 chassis, but strength and stiffness were optimized in several areas.
The vehicle is powered by a centrally mounted electric motor in the rear with a continuous output of 45 kW. It draws its power from lithium-polymer batteries that are installed throughout the rear of the car.
The transmission is controlled by a differential gear that transmits the power to the rear wheels. With our first electric-powered car, we focused on keeping most of the elements as simple as possible.
