Formula Student
The Formula Student challenge is a construction competition held by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Its purpose is to develop and support young engineers.
Since the beginning in 1979 the Formula Student competition has developed into an international competition with participants from over 20 different countries of all continents. Up to 150 teams participate in numerous racing events held at famous locations (such as Silverstone or the Hockenheimring).
The growing popularity of the Formula Student competition is proven by the rapidly rising number of participants and the establishment of new events.
For participating students, the Formula Student competition is a unique chance to test their theoretical knowledge in a practical context. Moreover, they gain and develop skills such as efficient project organization, team work and working under the pressure of a deadline.
Due to the active collaboration with companies from various businesses (e.g. the automotive industry), the Formula Student competition holds great opportunities for participants to connect with potential employers. By the sponsoring companies this competition is considered as an ideal recruiting platform for young talents.
